Trapp Villa is a great disappointment

The villa has small rooms, no service personnel, the only staff member available goes home at 6pm and nobody looks after the guests. There are absolutely no restaurants or bars in the vicinity, no mini bar in the rooms, no food or drink available in the hotel. Breakfast is euro 14 per person and is nothing special.

What is worse, however:

During our stay we found out, to our greatest shock and disbelief, that this house had been used by Heinrich Himmler as SS-headquarters from 1940-45. He used the upper rooms as an office to plan the extermination of millions of Jews worldwide. These rooms are now being rented out as hotel rooms to unknown visitors by a media couple turned "hotel owners", who make a profit with this dodgy business idea. It is unbelievable. I could not close an eye in my room thinking that the psychopath Himmler himself might have made his decisions about the gas chambers in our hotel room.
How can anyone be so ignorant, dim and stupid to turn an SS-headquarter into a hotel for unassuming visitors who come for the Sound of Music? The Himmler- and SS-context of the house is so awful that this should never ever have been turned into a hotel! It is tasteless. It is as embarrassing as the "Anschluss". Some Austrians obviously never learn from history. The owners of the hotel show no respect for millions of Nazi victims by having turned an SS-headquarters into a hotel using it for personal profit.
