An exciting outdoor production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music is taking place this summer in London, England. It is happening at the charming Open Air Theatre in Regent's Park from July 25th until September 7th 2013.
Charlotte Wakefield has been cast as Maria von Trapp with Michael Xavier as Captain von Trapp. Charlotte Wakefield has recently starred in the West End stage production of Mamma Mia while Michael Xavier starred in the musical, Love Story.

of The Sound of Music has just been announced for Thursday December 5th 2013. The network is planning an adaptation of the original Broadway show, starring country singer Carrie Underwood, who will be leading the cast as Maria von Trapp. Make sure you put this in your diary!
Julie Andrews spoke to over 6,000 graduating students at the Univerity of Colorado today, Friday 10th May.

Charmian Carr, who played Liesl, the oldest von Trapp child in The Sound of Music movie, has run her own successful Interior Design business in California for many years, and perhaps her most famous client was Michael Jackson.
She has recently been commissioned by award-winning furniture making company Palacek, along with four other well-known Interior Designers, to design their ‘fantasy inspiration’ chair, and here is the result. It’s called ‘Hollywood’, and you can enter a draw for a chance to win one.

For the first time ever, Julie Andrews will be appearing on stage in Australia and New Zealand. An Evening With Julie Andrews is happening from 18th May to 5th June in Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Auckland, and will be hosted by Nicholas Hammond who played Friedrich in The Sound of Music movie.
Julie's Australian and New Zealand appearances are a live "interview-style" retrospective of her extraordinary career featuring unseen film clips and audience questions & answers. It does not feature live singing.

We need your help! We're trying to find directions to the lovely alpine meadow above the Salzach Valley in Austria where the start of the song 'Do-re-mi' was filmed, with Hohenwerfen Fortress in the background. Has anyone been there, and found the spot?
I went to Werfen with my family several years ago as part of our own Sound of Music Tour, but didn't succeed in finding the exact location.
