The tour takes approximately four hours. You can book the 'Original Sound of Music Tour' with Panorama Tours, or take the 'My Favorite Things Tour' and stay for two nights at the beautiful Leopoldskron Palace, incorporating The Sound of Music Show at Landestheater Salzburg.

Bob's is a family run business, operating for over 30 years. Their tours also last approximately four hours. bicycle tourFraulein Maria’s Bicycle Tours on Radetzkystrasse 9 is an alternative, fun way if you are looking for a cycling tour, Sound of Music style. Tours take three and half hours with plenty of stops for refreshments and photos, so you don’t have to be super fit! Just show up at their meeting point on Mirabellplatz 4. A late afternoon tour is now offered in July and August, but needs to be booked. Check out their website for all the information.
For an extra charge you can continue to hire your bike for the rest of the day.

 salzach boat cruiseSalzach Cruise – sit back and enjoy the sights of Salzburg from a different perspective, on the ‘Amadeus Salzburg’ boat, which cruises down the Salzach River for eight kilometres towards Hellbrun and back. A second tour option allows a stop at Hellbrun to see the amazing trick fountains and the Gazebo. Tours run from April to October, and depart from Makart Bridge. Reservations recommended. Viking River Cruise Viking River Cruises take you on an eight day cruise down the Danube, through Hungary, Slovakia, Austria and Germany, with a day excursion to Salzburg. There are two cruise options available, so if you have the time and budget, then this looks like a wonderfully relaxing way to take in some real European history!

 Rickshaw tourRickshawtours at Residenzplatz 1, 5020 Salzburg (phone 0043650 6340240), offer city tours from ten minutes to as long as you like. This bike taxi is a stress free way of seeing the sights, delightful squares and narrow streets with a commentary and tips thrown in too.

Hackney Coaches- this tour company provides excursions in horse drawn horse and carriage carriages around Salzburg town. They have set routes for visitors, but will also take you to specific places such as Leopoldskron, Hellbrun or Frohnberg upon request. Turn up at Residence Square (Residenzplatz) from 10:00am to experience the most romantic and relaxing of all the Salzburg tours.

Walking Tour – this tour is offered by Salzburg Guide Service on Linzergasse 22 tel: (0043)662 840406. Trudy It is called ‘The Hills Are Alive Walking Tour’, and takes in the Sound of Music film locations on foot. Tours leave from outside the main tourist office and last for about one hour.
